OFS Global Picnic

While this is a day for all OFS families to enjoy, it is a parent organised event and the PA requires parents to help in various ways. The PA as the event organiser provided the basic infrastructure and any extra help that you may need.

You can be a part of the Global Picnic in many ways:

The Global Picnic is a celebration of the school's cultural diversity. This event is organised at OFS. As Country Coordinator, you need to organise a group of OFS parents from the country that you are representing and decide which foods, activities, games, dance or music etc are typical of your country. Together, your group will present these on the day of the Global Picnic at your own Country Tables.

All food, games/activities or entertainment that you present at your Country Table will be offered to every OFS parent and student free of charge. None of the items you offer can be priced or ticketed. No business cards, flyers or other forms of advertisement can be distributed during the Global Picnic.

You are free to decide how much food, games/activities or entertainment you would like to present. Do as much as you would like and can manage easily.

You should enjoy the process as well as the event! Let us all enjoy the day in the spirit of learning and sharing. The PA as the event organiser will provide the basic infrastructure and any extra help that you may need.

List of Country Coordinator for Global Picnic 2023 (login required)

You choose to be a Volunteer for your country and work with the Country Coordinator and other Volunteers from your country to organise food, activities, games, dance or music etc that are typical of your country. Together, your group will present these on the day of the Global Picnic.

Some countries have a very small representation at OFS. If you feel that you do not have enough members to contribute a full table of food items for your country, you can still participate by bringing a dish of food to the International Table.

A Country Coordinator may organize 1 performance of 5 minutes duration, for your country. This could be a dance or any other form of musical performance which showcases your country. If you would like to participate in a performance with your country please contact your Country Coordinator as soon as possible.

As a country coordinator you may wish to participate in the OFS International Fashion Show. You may organize a maximum of 12 people from your country to participate.
