Talk on Navigating ADHD in Children

Friday, 30 January 2026
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Parent Lounge (Level 4 of the Administration building)

We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming informative talk, guided and hosted by Dr Penny Tok. The talk is designed to provide practical, evidence-based guidance on managing and treating Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children.

The topic of medication and various therapies can often be complex and overwhelming. Our goal is to create a safe, open, and stigma-free space for discussion, addressing both your hopes and your fears regarding treatment options.

Talk Details
Topic: Medication, Therapy, and Evidence-Based Interventions
    Date: Friday, 30 January 2026
    Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Parents Lounge (Level 4 of the Administration Building).

What We Will Cover
This talk will delve into several crucial areas, helping you make informed decisions tailored to your child's needs:

Medication Management:
How do parents responsibly decide whether to pursue medication?
What does effective and responsible medication management look like, including monitoring and adjustment?

Evidence-Based Non-Medication Interventions:
What are the most effective, evidence-based non-medication interventions for ADHD, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), parent/child coaching, and neurofeedback?

Lifestyle Factors:
Can diet, sleep, and exercise really make a measurable difference in managing ADHD symptoms — and how can we implement these changes effectively?

Tracking Progress:
How can parents and teachers effectively work together to track whether an intervention (medication or non-medication) is actually helping and making a measurable difference?

Long-Term Outlook:
Is it realistic to expect that a child will "outgrow" ADHD? We will discuss the developmental trajectory of the condition.

We understand that every child is unique, and this workshop is intended to equip you with the knowledge necessary to partner effectively with your child's medical and educational team.
